Steps

  1. 1

    Open Find

Press Ctrl+F (⌘F on a Mac) or the magnifier in the toolbar. Selected text becomes the search.

  2. 2

    Narrow it

Aa matches capital letters; ab matches whole words only. Enter and Shift+Enter move between results.

  3. 3

    Replace

Press Ctrl+H or the arrow beside the field. Replace writes the current result; All replaces every result in the scene in one step that one undo takes back.

  4. 4

    Go through the book

Choose Whole book to see every scene where the word appears. Open one from the list, or press Next scene, and the search stays on.

When Match case is off, the replacement takes the shape of the word it replaces: replacing “mira” with “lysa” writes “Lysa” at the start of a sentence and “LYSA” in capitals.

Replacing happens in the open scene, one scene at a time, so every change is saved and synced like your own typing.
