Dictate a scene or a note

Your browser turns speech into text; no audio reaches Musael.

Steps

  1. 1

    Start dictating

Click the microphone in the toolbar or press Ctrl+Shift+. (⌘⇧. on a Mac). In Notes, the microphone beside New note starts a voice note.

  2. 2

    Speak

Words being heard show in grey at the cursor. Each finished phrase is written with the right space and capital.

  3. 3

    Pause or finish

Pause and Resume in the bar; Done or Esc finishes. The bar shows the time and the language you speak, which you can change there.

  4. 4

    Tidy it

When you finish, Tidy with Musy adds punctuation and paragraphs and writes Codex names correctly, without rewriting your words. Keep as is leaves the text alone.

Chrome, Edge and Safari can recognise speech; Firefox cannot, so the microphone does not appear there. When the bar shows “On device”, the browser recognises the language on your device; otherwise it uses its maker’s speech service (Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari).

Tidy costs 2 credits for every 1,000 words, and you see the price before sending.
