How cyberpunk names are built
Cyberpunk names come from two worlds: the legal name on a corporate contract and the handle used on the street. In a city that tracks every record, a real name is a liability, so people go by something they earned from a habit, a modification, a first job or a bad night. Handles are short, hard and a little theatrical: Chromesaint, Static Wolf, Gutter Rat. Corporate names are the opposite, built to look good on a letterhead. This generator offers street handles, with the legal name behind some of them, corporate names with a title and a company, and hacker handles made from technical words.
Keeping the sprawl consistent
Decide how a handle is earned and let the world enforce it. If handles come from a first job or a first mistake, nobody picks their own, and a character who insists on a flattering one is quickly corrected. Keep handles short enough to shout across a bar, and keep a legal name in reserve for a moment of trust or betrayal. Use the same brand logic for the corporations: one or two syllables from a naming agency, plus a plain business word. And check your final choice, because many cyberpunk stories share vocabulary.

Questions about cyberpunk names
What is a cyberpunk handle?
A handle is a street name used instead of a legal name. It is usually short, earned from a habit or an event, and hard to trace back to a person. Hackers, fixers and runners use them to stay off official records.
How do I make a cyberpunk name that feels original?
Build it from one concrete detail about the character, such as a scar, a trade or a mistake, and avoid the most common words in the genre. Combine two unexpected words and test that the result is easy to say.
What is the difference between the three scenes?
Street names are earned handles with an optional legal name. Corporate names read like a letterhead, with titles and company names. Hacker names use technical vocabulary and often include a number or a place on the net.
Can I use these names in my story or game?
Yes. They are free to use. The generator avoids well-known characters and companies from existing franchises, but search your final choice before you publish in case it matches one.
