How princess names are built
A princess name has two jobs: it has to belong to a royal house, and it has to be a name a reader can love for three hundred pages. Royal names are often long on paper, with several given names, a house and a kingdom, and short in daily life, so a princess can be Alessandra in the court records and Lessa in the nursery. Fairytale princesses tend to carry names from nature and gentle epithets. Court princesses carry classical names with many syllables. Warrior princesses carry short, hard names and a title earned in the field. The generator has a tone for each, and adds a kingdom, a house or an epithet.
Naming a royal family
Decide how your dynasty names its children. Real royal houses reuse a small stock of names, so a princess is often named for a grandmother, and two cousins can share a name and need a nickname. That habit gives you ready plot, as well as a believable family tree. Keep the kingdom, the house and the given names in one sound world, so that a reader hears a place in them. And make sure the princess cannot be mistaken for the queen: if the queen is Eleonora, the princess should not be Eleanora. Say the long form once, early, and then let the story use the short one.

Questions about princess names
What makes a good princess name?
A good princess name suits her kingdom and her personality, and is easy to read many times. Choose a tone, then a name with a clear first letter and a rhythm that differs from the queen's and the other leads.
Should a princess have a title in her name?
Use the title when she is introduced formally or in a legal or ceremonial scene, and drop it in dialogue and narration. The generator adds Princess to about half of the results so you can see both styles.
How do I name a princess in a fantasy kingdom?
Give the kingdom its own sound and draw the princess's names from it. A kingdom called Verenmere suggests soft, flowing names; one called Ironhold suggests short, hard ones. The house name and the epithet can then add the details.
Can I use these names in a story or game?
Yes. They are free to use. The tables avoid the names of well-known fictional princesses, but search your final choice before you publish in case it matches a character or a brand.
