Planning and revising an actual scene
Reedsy Studio describes chapter organization, writing goals, planning tools and boards. Those are real parts of a writing workflow, not reasons to mark its planning as absent. The useful question is what happens when the outline and the prose disagree.
In Musael, Plan uses the same scene records as the manuscript. A plotline can carry notes across several scenes. Plan → Revision reads the saved prose for a selected POV and thread, letting you inspect the text rather than only the outline summary. Tasks persist beside each scene and can be revisited after the editing session.
Imagine a reconciliation subplot that is resolved in the final chapter. Its planning card says the two characters rebuild trust earlier, but their dialogue still shows suspicion. Read those scenes together, record the missing behavioral step and open the earlier passage to revise it. Neither a board nor a word-count target can decide that for you.
World facts, character beliefs and story time
Musael's World distinguishes a confirmed fact from a character's claim or belief. Source annotations let you trace a record back to a passage. The impact view follows explicit links to dependent records and scenes, while author-recorded knowledge acquisition and use can be compared in story time.

These checks remain bounded. They do not infer every fact from prose, decide whether a character is lying or guarantee detection of all plot holes. Unknown times stay uncertain. The source and date of a statement matter more than a decorative continuity score.

Reedsy advertises real-time collaboration and a route to formatted manuscripts for beta readers. Musael offers project collaboration and separate reading links, so a co-author's editing access and a reader's feedback scope can be chosen independently.
Reedsy Studio advertises EPUB and print-ready PDF export. Musael exports Word, EPUB and HTML, with browser print/PDF and presentation presets. Do not equate these outputs without checking the finished book against the distributor or printer's requirements.
Reedsy's current plan conditions, including any paid planning features, should be checked on its site. Calling every capability free because basic writing is free would hide an important purchase condition. Move a sample before a whole book
Keep the Reedsy project and original publishing files. Bring a supported manuscript export through Musael's preview, then check order, scene breaks, emphasis and a chapter with unusual formatting.
