# Writing offline and syncing

Musael keeps working without a connection and catches up when it can.

## Steps

1. **Saved on this device** Every change is stored in this browser as you type. The status at the top says Saved on this device.
2. **Synced to your account** When you are online, changes go to your account and reach your other devices and your co-authors.
3. **Keep a copy** Export the whole project as a .storyproject file from the project menu whenever you want an independent copy.

## If two devices change the same text

Live editing merges the changes as they happen. If a device was offline for a long time, its changes are merged when it reconnects.
